Slim Body, Strong Mind, One Workout

How would you like to gain strength, balance and flexibility in one workout? You can and right now it’s the hottest growing trend in the fitness industry. It’s called Fusion Fitness.

Women are tired of the same old traditional workouts and, as a result, they are mixing and matching everything from Yoga, T'ai Chi, Pilates, Ballet, Kickboxing, Boot Camp, Cycling, Swimming and Aerobics. But, it's the combination of Yoga and Pilates proving to be the most popular and effective. A recent article in the L.A. Times touted it as, “the fitness world’s most popular couple.”

"One-stop - a total-body workout on the cutting edge of fitness"

In one work out you gain strength, balance & flexibility, increase stamina, focus your mind and cleanse your spirit. Lisa, a Fitness Fusion enthusiast and single mother from Ohio says, "For me it's perfect.

I have a busy schedule and being able to get a complete workout in one shot is a Godsend."

Though the concept has been around for a few years, the popularity has recently grown like wildfire. Gyms are now offering "Fusion Fitness" classes and there are even clubs and studios that solely teach fusion fitness classes and nothing else.

"No need for fancy gyms or specialty classes"

If you don't have access to these types of classes locally, you're in luck because the video/DVD world has you covered. You can do Fusion Fitness at home, on your own time. Here is what you'll need...

To give you an idea of what you are getting in to, here is a typical Fusion Fitness workout session.

  1. Warm-up - A combination of movements for approximately five to seven minutes to get your blood flowing.
  2. Cardio - This is the best time to try to fit in 20 to 30 minutes of cardio exercise, whether it's power walking outside, dancing in your living room, taking a jog or going for a bike ride. If you really don’t have time for this, you can skip this phase here and there.
  3. Strengthen - Here you will do Pilates exercises for your chest, back, legs, shoulders/arms and stomach. The idea here is to strengthen and stabilize your core and tone your whole body.
  4. Cool Down - the best part. You’re done!

"Motivation - Staying on Course"

We all start out with the best intentions however we all know that staying motivated and focused can be hard. Here are some proven success tips to keep you motivated as you shape and firm your body.

  • Picture yourself having successfully reached your fitness goal. Every time you work out visualize that image.
  • Focus on improving fitness levels, not losing weight.
  • Schedule workouts in advance. Make an appointment with yourself to exercise and don’t let any excuse get in the way.
  • Increase exercise intensity gradually. Too much too soon leads to burnout and possible injury.
  • Remind yourself of why you are doing this in the first place. There is no better way to feel  energetic and good about yourself.
  • Work out with a friend, better yet get your kids in on the fun with you. You can also get kid size fusion fitness gear.

So if you relish the idea of putting more spark in your stride, perfecting your posture, maximizing your muscle strength and watching your self-esteem soar then why not give Fusion Fitness a try!
